The Diploma of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages course is designed to equip ESL/EFL teaching professionals with advanced skills to teach English to speakers of other languages around the world. The Diploma of TESOL will equip language teachers with advanced skills in areas such as IELTS preparation teaching, advanced English grammar, a variety of cultural contexts and to develop and establish new English teaching centres. Graduates will be able to access higher level teaching positions.

Requirements to receive qualification, exit points:
Diploma of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) trainees who successfully demonstrate competency in all units of the Diploma of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) will be issued with a Certificate of Qualification by Sea English Academy International.
Pre-requisites
Completion of an accredited Certificate IV in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) is a pre-requisite requirement.
Entry requirements
Applicants must provide evidence of an ability to undertake studies at an appropriate academic level in English. Evidence should be graduates from Certificate IV in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages or equivalent. If an applicant has not completed this education they are encouraged to complete the appropriate course prior to undertaking this course.
If an applicant has not reached an appropriate level of English language they are encouraged to undertake an English language program within the Sea English Academy International, or similar institution, to assist them to attain an appropriate level of English to undertake further study. An appropriate level of English language is deemed to be an IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score of 7.0 or higher.
Course Delivery
The course is conducted in two delivery modes as follows:
Option One: Full Time. The Full Time course is conducted from Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 1.00pm, over a 20 week period. The course includes lectures, scheduled reading, research and assignment preparation. This course schedule is available to students studying in Australia on a student visa.
Option Two: Correspondence. The correspondence course is conducted at your own pace. The correspondence course is not available to students studying in Australia on a student visa.
