International Teaching Opportunities,
Training and Placement
High school, primary school, kindergarten, college and university - all have high demand for English teachers. Short and long term, paid and volunteer positions. A great variety of jobs are currently available in a variety of locations. However, the worldwide ESL industry can be overwhelming for new teachers and it is vital to have an experienced support network both at home and overseas to point you in the right direction.

For schools that are looking for English teachers we can promote their employment opportunities through an internationally broad and extensive database of available and qualified teachers. Our service for schools includes conducting personal interviews, ensuring the prospective teacher's qualifications and personality meet the criteria of the school.
We provide job placement assistance and support for teachers to help them prepare properly, know what to avoid, assist in cross-cultural preparation, understand the condition of their contracts, and know how to get the best deal available.
There are a range of opportunities and benefits depending on when and where you go. There are several key aspects to consider when considering an overseas teaching job. Choose a country and culture that interests you and a climate you can adapt to. You will need to consider a suitable wage and teaching load that you know you can handle.
Wages range greatly from country to country and depend on your qualifications and experience. In China and the Vietnam the average wage for a native English teacher is approximately US$12 per hour. In Korea, Japan and Hong Kong the average wage for a native English teacher is approximately US$100 per hour. When considering a wage, it is important to consider the cost of living in the local economy and what additional benefits are offered with the contract. While the wage is relatively low in China, it is more than enough to live well and is at least 4 times higher than the wage of a local non-native English speaking teacher.
Every contract will be different and every school unique. The average teaching schedule ranges from 10 to 18 classes per week. Class sizes may vary from between 10 students to 150 students!
Short term placement is during the July/August summer holiday period. Schools usually provide accommodation and a small wage. A tourist visa is all that is required for a short term summer teaching program.
Long term placement is usually 12 months. Depending on which country you go to return airfares and accommodation are sometimes provided but not always. A wage is usually provided. The school should require and arrange a working visa either prior to, or on arrival in the country. Six months contracts are also available. These contracts commence either in February or September each year.
There are sometimes additional benefits thrown in as well and can include meals, insurance, a computer with internet connection, language lessons, even a bicycle!
